Mentoring is free and always will be — it's giving back. I reply to a few requests each week, students first.
Advisory

For organizations

Independent, practitioner-grade guidance — scoped and quoted per engagement. No hourly billing, no surprises.

Product review & testing

Independent evaluation of security products — does it detect what it claims? Adversary-informed testing against real techniques, with findings your team can act on.

Incident response readiness

Tabletop exercises, playbook reviews, and IR process guidance — so the first real incident isn't the first time the plan gets tested.

SOC advisory

Maturity assessment, triage workflow design, and analyst coaching — building SOCs that catch things instead of drowning in alerts.

Threat intelligence programs

Guidance on collection, analysis, and dissemination that actually informs defense — intelligence your hunters and detectors can use.

Detection engineering

Building and tuning detections that fire on real adversary behavior — high-fidelity, low-noise, and mapped to the techniques that matter.

Threat hunting

Proactive hunt programs and practices that find what automation misses — hypothesis-driven hunting grounded in real threat intelligence.

How engagements work

01

Intro call

A short conversation on fit, goals, and scope. No commitment.

02

Scoped proposal

Fixed quote and timeline against defined deliverables.

03

The work

Testing, assessment, and exercises — delivered against the proposal.

04

Handover & follow-through

Findings walkthrough with your team, remediation guidance, and a check-in once you've had time to act.

I take on a small number of advisory engagements alongside my practitioner work. NDAs are standard.

Fair questions

Why is graduate mentoring free?

Because someone gave me their time when I was starting out. The advisory work funds the hours; the mentoring is how I pay it forward.

How is advisory priced?

Every engagement is scoped and quoted individually against defined deliverables — fixed price, fixed timeline. Tell me the problem and I'll tell you what it costs.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes — standard practice for every advisory engagement.

How much availability do you have?

A small number of engagements at a time, by design. If I'm full, I'll tell you when the next window opens rather than stretch thin.
